Argentina signed a strategic agreement with Nano Nuclear Energy, a U.S. company in which Rick Perry, former United States Secretary of Energy during Donald Trump's first administration, participates, as well as one of his closest energy advisers.
This memorandum of understanding aims to evaluate the capabilities of Dioxitek S.A., the only national manufacturer of uranium for nuclear fuel, to produce uranium hexafluoride at a plant located in Formosa and export it to global companies that enrich this mineral.
The agreement, which is part of the process of opening up nuclear energy companies to private capital promoted by President Javier Milei's government, represents an opportunity to strengthen the value chain of the Argentine nuclear sector.

Dioxitek, whose main plant is located in Córdoba, is now moving forward with this agreement with Nano Nuclear Energy. In addition, the U.S. company has already signed an agreement with the British-owned mining company UrAmérica, which holds concessions to mine uranium in Chubut, within the Meseta Central project.
This development is especially relevant in the context of the growing global demand for nuclear energy as an efficient and stable energy source, which doesn't depend on the weather and guarantees a constant supply. Collaboration with Nano Nuclear Energy will allow Argentina to position itself strategically in the global nuclear fuel market, reducing dependence on external suppliers and strengthening its national energy infrastructure.

Rick Perry's participation in this project underscores the international interest in the Argentine nuclear industry and its potential to become a key player in the supply of nuclear fuel worldwide and especially for the United States. During his time as Secretary of Energy, Perry promoted policies that supported the development of nuclear energy as a stable and efficient source of clean energy.
Meanwhile, this agreement represents an opportunity for the country's economic and technological development. Collaboration with renowned foreign companies can drive innovation and technology transfer, strengthening Argentina's capacity to lead in the field of nuclear energy in Latin America.
The partnership between Dioxitek and Nano Nuclear Energy is great news for the Milei government's energy strategy, aligning with the libertarian administration's objectives of promoting private investment in strategic sectors.
