Formula 1: Colapinto could give an exhibition in Buenos Aires

The arrival of Franco Colapinto to Formula 1 at the beginning of 2024 reignited the passion for the top category of motorsport. Every weekend, thousands of Argentinians follow the young Alpine talent on television, although the absence of a race in the country limits the possibility of seeing him live to those who can travel abroad.

In this context, news that excites fans has started to take shape. The possibility of Colapinto starring in an exhibition in Buenos Aires during November, right before the Brazilian Grand Prix, is being considered. The estimated weekend would be between the 7th and 9th of that month, when Formula 1 arrives in Interlagos.

"The possibility of doing it in November is because that month the Brazilian Grand Prix of Formula 1 takes place and an initiative is underway for Franco Colapinto to come to Buenos Aires to put on a show with an F1 car," said journalist Leonardo Regueira on Carburando Radio.

This proposal is related to the works that will begin in September at the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez, which will temporarily close for renovations. Among the projects is the layout of a street circuit in the area surrounding the venue, whose design has already been outlined and could be used for this type of special activity.

For now, the event doesn't have official confirmation and negotiations are ongoing, since the commitments of F1 drivers during the annual calendar make planning difficult. If it ultimately happens, it would not only be an unmissable occasion for the local public, but also a very significant moment for Colapinto, who since his debut in the top category has only returned to the country for a few days in the summer to celebrate the holidays with his family and finish his high school studies.
