Formula 1: Franco Colapinto's starting position at Alpine could be in jeopardy
The Argentine aims to remain as Gasly's teammate amid a possible promotion for Paul Aron and rumors of internal tensions and changes
Franco Colapinto is working intensively ahead of the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix. However, his present at Alpine is once again affected by the uncertainty surrounding the French team, which is mired in internal tensions after a season of poor performance.
In recent days, journalist Antonio Lobato revealed that the atmosphere at Alpine is "very compromised" and that he was even denied an interview with the new team principal, Flavio Briatore, due to the delicate situation the organization is experiencing and the possible decisions ahead of next season. Among the changes being considered is the situation of the Argentine driver.

Meanwhile, the figure of Paul Aron, current Alpine reserve driver, emerges, who has not hidden his intentions: "Everything I'm doing is aimed at securing a seat. My goal is to achieve it by next year at the latest," he stated in remarks to Planet F1.
Lobato also referred to the Estonian: "If things don't improve from a sporting perspective, then he could have an opportunity in the future."

This scenario, together with rumors about a possible interest from the team in Valtteri Bottas for 2026, reduces Colapinto's margin for error and forces him to deliver consistent results as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Alpine has given him recent support on social media, the driver from Pilar knows that his performances on track will be key to dispelling rumors and securing his place in Formula 1. In the midst of a sensitive institutional environment, the next race appears as a crucial opportunity to strengthen his position as a starter.
When Colapinto will race again
The top category will resume action in two weeks, from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, July 27, at Spa-Francorchamps, for the Belgian Grand Prix. While he waits to get back into Alpine's single-seater, the Argentine driver will continue his training sessions in the simulator.
