Franco Colapinto will face a new date in the Formula 1 this weekend with the aim of continuing to consolidate his growth within Alpine. After the encouraging seventh place achieved in the Miami Grand Prix, the Argentine driver expressed confidence ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix and highlighted the work done by the team in recent weeks.
Through a press release issued by the French team, the driver from Pilar expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, a venue where he has previously competed and where he hopes to fight again in the points zone.
"I am delighted to be racing in Canada again, especially because it is another Sprint weekend. I am very eager to take advantage of the positive weekend we had in Miami, with our results in the top ten in both qualifying sessions and my best result to date in Formula 1", Colapinto stated. "Miami shows that we are on the right track and that we have had a good start to the season", he added.

During the break between races, Colapinto worked with the team at the Enstone headquarters to prepare for the Canadian competition. "I was able to spend some time in Enstone over the last two weeks and we analyzed the good result, in addition to preparing for the Montreal weekend with significant work on the simulator", he explained.
The Canadian circuit presents a special challenge for drivers due to its long straights, heavy braking, and chicanes close to the walls. "The circuit is a lot of fun, finally a track where I have raced before, with long high-speed straights, but also tight corners and chicanes where we can get very close to the walls. It's great for the adrenaline!", the Argentine described.
The competition in Montreal will also be the third Sprint weekend of the season, a format that reduces preparation time and requires quick adaptation from both drivers and engineers. "The time we spend in the car is the most important. We will all work hard to maintain the positive momentum we have in the team", he added.
On the other hand, Alpine also highlighted the growth of the Argentine. In the same statement, the team's general director, Steve Nielsen, particularly valued the performance of the Argentine shown in Miami and assured that the goal now is to maintain that level consistently. "It was great to see Franco so comfortable in the last race and now we want him to show some consistency and repeat that level of performance every weekend", he stated.

The Brit also explained that the team will continue to introduce small improvements to the car while working on more significant updates for the upcoming European races. "It's encouraging to see that we can maximize what we have on hand at the moment", he affirmed.
With renewed confidence and the positive result from Miami still fresh, Colapinto will seek to continue taking firm steps in his first full season in Formula 1 and add another important result in Canada.
