The California legislature approved a controversial bill that prohibits immigration agents from being public officials in the state

The Democratic governor of California, Gavin Newsom, is considering enacting a bill that would leave former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) commissioners unable to be employed in the state public sector.

The legislation, dubbed "Get the Feds Out," was approved by the California Senate in late August, according to Blaze Media, but Newsom has yet to announce whether he will sign the bill. Democratic lawmakers argue that ICE agents are oppressors who "have committed serious, inhumane, and horrific patterns of hate, abuse, violence, and even execution" and are responsible for "a campaign of mass terror."

So, if this law is enacted by the opposing governor, anyone who has been involved in immigration enforcement and made their community safer during the four years of Trump's term —with some exceptions for local and state agencies— would be unfairly "disqualified from public employment."

Another bill, also introduced in the Democratic stronghold of California, aims to prohibit state government officials from accepting a second job to assist with immigration enforcement.

"There is a dangerous legal loophole in current state law, and that is that there are no explicit policies in the more than 55 police departments we identified that have a single policy prohibiting secondary employment with the Department of Homeland Security. Moonlighting," said far-left Assemblyman Isaac Bryan earlier this year.

"It is important that we close this legal loophole because there is tremendous fear in California. There is fear that law enforcement officers, the police who protect and serve during the day, are out masked, terrorizing and kidnapping at night," the Democratic politician considered.
