The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, led the inauguration of the "Casa de la Verde" this Monday in La Paz, the first high-performance complex of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) that will serve as a base for all national teams. In an event full of symbolism and promises, the official stated that Bolivia could have its own World Cup in the future.
"We're going to bring a World Cup here, of course. We're going to see which World Cup we're talking about, but with these infrastructures that are being built and the passion for football that this country has, of course we have to keep supporting," Infantino said before an audience full of officials, players, and local authorities.

The event was also attended by the president of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez, who spoke before the FIFA president and publicly requested that the promise be fulfilled: "Gianni, we want that World Cup to come to Bolivia." In addition, the Paraguayan official announced that the South American body will nominate Bolivia as the host of the single final of the 2027 Copa Sudamericana, in support of the country's growing sports infrastructure.
In that regard, Domínguez recalled that the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra had originally been designated as the host of this year's final, but lost the opportunity due to delays in the works at the Ramón "Tahuichi" Aguilera stadium. The Bolivian Football Federation, in response, decided to nominate the country again for the 2027 edition, coinciding with the institution's centenary.
During his visit, Infantino also highlighted the conversations initiated with Rodrigo Paz Pereira, recently elected president of Bolivia, "to see how we can help, contribute, and give more to football here in Bolivia."

The ceremony, held as part of the FBF's centenary, also included the participation of the president of the Colombian Football Federation, Ramón Jesurún, and other international football authorities. Infantino celebrated the inauguration of the complex's first field as "a historic moment" and emphasized the cooperation between FIFA, CONMEBOL, and FBF: "This is what made possible the creation of this fantastic high-performance center, these fieldes, this house"
The inauguration of the "Casa de la Verde" symbolizes a new starting point for Bolivian football, which seeks to modernize its structure and compete at the highest continental level. With the support of FIFA and CONMEBOL, the dream of a World Cup in Andean lands is beginning to take shape.
