Gimena Accardi spoke about the wave of hate she received for being unfaithful: 'It was a mistake'
The actress confirmed the affair and explained how she deals with harassment on social media after the separation
Gimena Accardi broke her silence and spoke openly about the difficult personal moment she is going through after admitting she was unfaithful to Nicolás Vázquez, her partner for almost two decades. The confession, which she made on the OLGA program, caused a strong media impact and a wave of comments on social media that ended up deeply affecting the actress.
“It was a lapse and I regret it. It's a shame for me to have to talk about something so private. I shouldn't have to explain myself to anyone except my husband, and I've already done that behind closed doors,” she said.
The actress revealed that the exposure of her private life led her to decide to step away from the digital world.

In that vein, she asked that third parties not involved in the situation not be dragged in, after the names of colleagues surfaced: “I'm telling this because I need to stop the connections they're making to other people who have nothing to do with it. There are families suffering on the other side. I'm taking responsibility: insult me, call me unfaithful, whatever you want, but stop dragging others through the mud,” she said.
Visibly moved, Accardi acknowledged that the most painful part of this situation is having hurt Vázquez: “I hurt someone I love, that's what hurts me the most because he's the last person in the world I ever wanted to hurt. Nico gave me the best 18 years of my life. We're not a media couple, we've never played the circus. This was a foolish mistake that I'm sorry for,” she said.
Regarding the identity of the third party, she was blunt in stating: “He's a random person who has nothing to do with the media. Don't try to dig because there's nothing to find. I don't follow him on Instagram, he's disappeared from my life. It was an absolute lapse,” she said.
