Good news for Boca: the sale of a former player that would bring in money has been confirmed

For the player's permanent transfer, the Ribera club will receive a portion for training rights

Racing Strasbourg has officially completed the permanent signing of Valentín Barco, who signed a contract until 2029 after arriving on loan from Brighton in England in January. The deal was finalized for an amount close to 10 million euros, and Boca, his youth club, will receive about 300,000 euros in training compensation.

The amount Xeneize will receive is due to FIFA regulations, which establish a percentage for the training of footballers from ages 12 to 21. In Colo's case, who joined the Ribera club when he was just 9 years old and left at 19, the Argentine club will receive approximately 3% of the total transfer.

It is worth remembering that his departure from Boca was marked by conflict with the management, which tried to renew his contract before the left back activated the clause to move to English football.

Meanwhile, Brighton, which had signed the youngster at the beginning of 2024 after paying the release clause, confirmed Barco's departure: "Valentín Barco has completed a permanent transfer to Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, subject to international clearance," they reported. Coach David Weir added: "This is a decision that suits all parties and we wish Valentín the best of luck for the future."

In terms of numbers, the 20-year-old player played 15 official matches with Racing Strasbourg since January, where he provided 2 assists. Meanwhile, the former Boca player also had two brief spells with Sevilla, where he played 9 games and provided one assist, and Brighton, where he appeared in only 7 matches.
