Amid an institutional crisis, the judiciary rejected the player's claim for a percentage of his transfer to another major Argentine football club
Amid a week marked by tension and the lack of training sessions due to salary debts, San Lorenzo received an unexpectedly positive piece of news in court: the court ruled in its favor in the lawsuit filed by Andrés Herrera, a former player who came up through the blaugranas' youth system.
The player had filed in 2023 a lawsuit in which he claimed that the club's management had forced him to forfeit the 15% corresponding to his transfer to River. That percentage, common in the mechanisms of player development and transfers, was at the center of the dispute. However, the court dismissed his claim, concluded that there was no irregularity in the transaction, and determined that the club will not have to pay any amount. In addition, the current Columbus Crew MLS player will have to cover the costs of the legal proceedings.

The case drew attention due to the defender's legal representation, since his lawyer belongs to the Cangueiro Ruiz law firm, the same legal group hired by Marcelo Moretti's administrationto lead the institutional audit launched in 2024, one of the pillars of his government project.
Meanwhile, the club's current sporting and institutional situation is far from calm. For the second consecutive day, the professional squad decided not to train at the Pedro Bidegain stadium after not receiving the overdue payments. The strike, which is already the third of the year, was repeated this Tuesday after a new promise from management to solve the situation within hours, something that was not fulfilled.
The players returned in the morning and, after confirming that the debt remained unpaid, decided to extend the strike and left the Ciudad Deportiva. Although management again committed to making the payments during the afternoon, internal sources warn that, if there is no immediate solution, the protest could also extend to Wednesday.
