Milei's government boosts access to home ownership for the armed forces

The Ministry of Defense and Banco Nación remove barriers for members to access the dream of owning their own home

In a decision that represents a resounding gesture of recognition to those who safeguard national sovereignty, President Javier Milei'sGovernment is advancing in strengthening institutions through concrete policies. This time, the benefit reaches the personnel of the Armed Forces, who for the first time will be able to access the “+Homes with BNA” mortgage line, thanks to an agreement signed between the Banco Nación and the Ministry of Defense.

The central point of the agreement is key:  the condition of permanent occupation is eliminated, which until now excluded many military personnel due to the inherent mobility of their service. This allows thousands of families in the national defense sector to project their future without unnecessary obstacles, in line with the Government's policy of reducing the burden of the unproductive State and revaluing those who perform essential functions.

“It is a way to respond to a historic demand from those who play an essential role in the security and well-being of all Argentinians,” said the president of Banco Nación, Daniel Tillard, when signing the agreement with the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri.

According to the banking entity, “the initiative represents a concrete recognition to those who serve in defense of the Nation, who until now were excluded from this type of loan, because, due to the nature of their work activity, they did not fit the required criteria.”

During the official event, celebrated with the institutional character that distinguishes the current Government, the director of BNA, Solana Pelayo, the general manager, Gastón Álvarez, and the Departmental Manager of Development and Management of Mortgage Products, Lucas Ponisio, were also present. Representing the Ministry of Defense were the Undersecretary of Strategic Planning and Military Policy, Vicente Autiero, and the Undersecretary of Administrative Management, Pablo Costa.

Another innovative aspect of the agreement is the possibility of including a second holder in the mortgage loan, even if they do not belong to the Armed Forces, with the aim of adding income to the main applicant and expanding the universe of beneficiaries. This includes personnel from the General Staff of the Air Force, the Army, the Navy, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces.

This measure is part of a broader policy of Banco Nación, aimed at supporting the comprehensive development of the various sectors that make up Argentine society, especially those that for years were neglected by clientelism and Kirchnerist state neglect.
