The Minister of Economy highlighted the improvement in the country's road infrastructure, within the framework of the 9,000 kilometers awarded through the Federal Concessions Network
The Government of Javier Milei celebrated the progress of the private investment scheme aimed at renewing the country's road infrastructure, reversing decades of neglect and looting by the Kirchnerist governments.
The Minister of Economy, Luis “Toto” Caputo, highlighted the completion of works on more than 300 kilometers of national roads, within the 9,000 kilometers initially tendered through the Federal Concessions Network.
The system promoted by the libertarian administration proposes the operation, maintenance, and renewal of road infrastructure through 100% private investment. While announcing the progress, Caputo linked the process to the model of works that Javier Milei had promised during the 2023 electoral campaign.
Through his X account, the minister published a video that combines statements from Milei during the campaign, comments from Caputo about the bidding process, and an intervention from the current President once he took office.
Along with the images, Caputo wrote: “More private infrastructure, less corruption, more productivity”.
In the published video, Milei appears as a presidential candidate, explaining his proposal to modify the state infrastructure construction system.
“We could completely eliminate public works by moving to a private initiative system like the Chilean one. The problem is that politicians don’t like that very much...,” the current president had stated.
Next, the president questions the functioning of public works and asserts: “Public works is a major source of corruption, of theft, which I imagine all good people should oppose”.

The video also recovers statements from Caputo about the progress of the tenders corresponding to the 9,000 kilometers. “The works for these 9,000 kilometers we are tendering will soon be operational, which are 9,000 kilometers where 80% of the traffic circulates,” the minister states in the recording.
In that same segment, Caputo projects the impact that the process will have on road infrastructure: “The map of what the Argentine routes will look like by the end of the term, believe me, will look like we are in another country”.
Finally, Milei appears as president and again refers to the change in the scheme for public works. “They said it was impossible to touch public works, of course, because that’s where politicians steal, and we, as we are willing to have a government of honest people, the first thing we cut was public works”, he asserts.
The progress of the kilometers of work is part of the process initiated with the tendering of the first 9,000 kilometers under the Federal Concessions Network.
With this scheme, the Milei Government seeks to end Kirchnerist corruption in public works and advance with the renewal of national roads through totally private investment.
