President Javier Milei officially presented the new electronic ID and the new Argentine passport, in an event that included the participation of the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Chief of the Cabinet, Manuel Adorni; and the Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli. The initiative is part of a comprehensive modernization process of the national identification system driven by the Government.
The update incorporates state-of-the-art technology and places Argentina among the countries with the highest global standards in document security, minimizing the possibilities of counterfeiting and strengthening the protection of citizens' personal data.
Modernization of the Argentine identification system
The national Government emphasized that the renewal of the ID and the passport responds to the need to update a key State system, aligning it with the best international practices in terms of security, efficiency, and reliability.
The new framework allows faster, safer, and more autonomous identification, while it protects citizens' sensitive information through advanced cryptographic technologies. The modernization also seeks to optimize migration controls and administrative processes, reducing historical vulnerabilities of the system.

Electronic ID: secure chip and maximum data protection
The new electronic ID represents a significant step forward in Argentine identity. It incorporates a secure electronic chip that stores the holder's data in encrypted form, allowing the identity to be validated without the need to consult external databases.
