The Government will veto Kirchnerist projects that aim to destroy the surplus
The opposition seeks to promote projects that represent a significant increase in spending, without explaining the source of the resources
If Congress were to approve the Kirchnerist projects that seek to destroy the fiscal surplus and bankrupt the State, President Javier Milei is determined to veto any pension proposal that the opposition attempts to push today in the Chamber of Deputies.
However, the session could not take place because opposition blocs like Unión por la Patria (UxP), Encuentro Federal, Democracia para Siempre, the Civic Coalition, and the Left Front failed to gather the necessary quorum to start the debate on their projects.
The announcement was made this morning during a press conference by the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, who explained that this decision aligns with the Milei Government's goal of preserving the fiscal surplus, a pillar of stabilization and economic growth. The official position was expressed even before the session's collapse was confirmed.

"Any law that could become such and that aligns with threatening the fiscal balance, which is an important part of the economic program, will be vetoed," Adorni stated in response to questions from accredited journalists at Casa Rosada.
"It's something that has already happened. It will indeed be vetoed like any other issue that threatens the fiscal balance. Pensions are updated by inflation," he added.
He also recalled: "The pension system has been left defaulted, bankrupt, and destroyed, and in a pay-as-you-go system, active workers support the retirees. This means I must respond that for pensions to improve, salaries must improve, which under one condition, investment and growth."

"Resources are finite, and politics has tried to convince us that budgetary constraints are nonexistent, and of course, that has made us go against the Law of Gravity," he remarked. This way, the spokesperson indicated that, both for Milei and his economic team, pensions and retirements can only improve if salaries increase first.
"It will occur with an economy where companies continue to invest and a virtuous circle is caused. There is no magical realism. Thinking that by sitting in a seat one can improve the level of assets can only be explained by ignorance or malice. If there were no budgetary constraints, the communists would be right because we could have salaries of 2 million pesos," he concluded.
