Major discovery in San Juan: Three new copper and gold zones discovered in Lunahuasi
The discoveries, named Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter, consolidate the geological potential of the San Juan project
Canadian company NGEx Minerals announced the discovery of three new mineralization zones of copper and gold at the Lunahuasi project, located in the province of San Juan. The results correspond to assays from four of the eight remaining holes from Phase 3 of the drilling program that the company is carrying out in the region.
The identified zones were named Marte, Saturno, and Júpiter, and are added to the group of high-grade areas within the deposit, which remains in an advanced exploration stage.
NGEx Minerals' President and CEO, Wojtek Wodzicki, stated, "The drilling results in this release confirm and expand the known high-grade mineralization zones, improve our understanding of the associated porphyry system, and have discovered new zones, while also expanding the boundaries of the Lunahuasi deposit."

One of the most significant findings occurred in hole DPDH043, which recorded an intersection of 46.8 meters (153.54 feet) with a copper equivalent grade of 9.55%. This drilling, carried out further north than previous campaigns, allowed for better delimitation of the Júpiter zone. Meanwhile, Marte corresponds to a shallow high-grade zone identified in hole DPDH014, while Saturno, located to the south of the area, was initially detected in hole DPDH028.
NGEx reported that these three zones represent significant volumes of contiguous mineralization, which will be subject to further definition in the next drilling phase, scheduled to begin in October.
Additionally, the company anticipated that there are multiple isolated intersections in other areas of the project that, if confirmed with more widely spaced drilling, could lead to new discoveries.
The Lunahuasi project is consolidating as one of the main foreign capital mining exploration ventures in the country. In a context of growing international interest in strategic mineral resources, the continuity and expansion of this type of initiative reinforce Argentina's mining potential and strengthen San Juan's position as one of the leading provinces in the development of metalliferous projects.
Opening to private investment and legal certainty are key in this process.
