The Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, will travel to Asheville, North Carolina, to participate from Monday, August 31 to Tuesday, September 1 in the meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank authorities, where he will meet with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and advocate for the economic program of the Government of Javier Milei.
Although the official schedule for the meeting has not yet been announced, the meeting between the two officials will take place during the two days of activities planned in the United States, with Bessent as the host of the summit.

The meeting will represent a new demonstration of the close relationship between the administrations of Milei and Donald Trump. The Treasury Secretary was one of the key figures in the U.S. financial support to Argentina during 2025, when Washington implemented a support scheme of USD 20 billion through a swap.
The financial meeting taking place in Asheville will also serve as preparation for the G20 leaders' summit, scheduled for December 14 and 15 in Miami, which President Milei will attend.
During the days, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva will also be present, so there is a possibility that she will have another meeting with Caputo. Both officials maintain frequent contact and recently shared the visit of the head of the organization to Argentina.
The Government also managed to meet the target for accumulating net international reserves set in the agreement signed with the Fund in April 2025 during July.

Caputo will be accompanied by the Secretary of Economic Policy, José Luis Daza; the President of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausili; and the Vice President of the entity, Vladimir Werning. They will also participate in sessions related to sovereign debt, global imbalances, financial education, and fraud.
One of the main moments of Argentina's participation will be the minister's presentation on the evolution of the global economy. The Ministry of Economy has indicated that Caputo will be the main speaker and will present the measures implemented by the Milei administration to achieve macroeconomic stability as a platform for sustained growth.
