GTA VI breaks records: the trailer surpasses 100 million views in one week

The second trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI surpassed 100 million views on YouTube in just one week since its surprise release on May 6.

The figure confirms the unprecedented level of anticipation caused by the new installment from Rockstar Games and solidifies GTA as one of the most influential franchises in the history of digital entertainment.

An unexpected release and massive reception

The video was released without prior announcement, in a move that surprised the game's followers, who had been speculating for months about new images following official delays. Far from generating rejection, the strategy further boosted the community's enthusiasm.

Filmed using the graphical capabilities of PlayStation 5, the trailer offers a detailed glimpse of the fictional state of Leonida, where the story of the new protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, will unfold. The scenes show a vibrant city, with a level of visual realism rarely seen.

Industry experts estimate that GTA VI could sell more than 40 million copies during its first year, a figure that would position it as a potential historical record in the industry.

Impact on the gaming industry

The impact of the trailer goes beyond the number of views. According to analysts, Rockstar's production sets a new technical and narrative standard in the development of AAA video games. "The visual realism combined with a complex narrative anticipates a work that could redefine the genre," indicated a report from GameIndustry.biz.

For now, the game has been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, although expectations are growing for a future PC version. Meanwhile, the gaming community celebrates each new detail as a preview of what promises to be one of the greatest milestones in gaming history.
