Guillermo Francella supported Julieta Prandi during the decisive hours of the trial against her ex.
The renowned actor requested that justice be served and peace be brought to his colleague
In the midst of a press tour for the premiere of Homo Argentum —his new film that will hit theaters this Thursday and will later be available on Disney+—, Guillermo Francella paused the promotion to send a message of support to Julieta Prandi, who is going through one of the most decisive weeks of her life.
The actor, who shared the screen with Prandi in the early 2000s on the memorable show Poné a Francella (Telefe), was caught off guard by a question in an interview for Puro Show (eltrece) about the trial the model is facing against her ex-husband, Claudio Contardi, who is accused of "sexual abuse with aggravated carnal access for causing severe mental harm to the victim."
"It's a very tough week, poor thing. All the blessings in the world for Julieta. A wonderful human being. She doesn't deserve what she's been through," Francella said, visibly moved. He added: "Besides, none of us knew what she was going through at that level. All the best for her. That's the only thing I can tell you."
The final stretch of a five-year process
This Wednesday, August 13, the Argentine court's verdict against Contardi, a restaurant entrepreneur and father of Prandi's children, will be announced. The model and host shared on A la tarde (América TV) how she is experiencing the hours leading up to the sentence:
"I've been waiting for this for five years. I went through courts, expert reports, interviews, sessions... and finally I was able to look the judges in the eye and tell them what I experienced. It was very hard to get there and have to recount it," she confessed to Karina Mazzocco.
Prandi, who is seeking an exemplary sentence, warned about the need to protect her integrity and that of her family: "I can't live with a police car following me to the supermarket or when I take my children to school. The least is that he should have house arrest if they don't give him pretrial detention, because otherwise, the one who won't be able to leave her house will be me."
Julieta Prandi se quebró al declarar contra su ex por abuso
The actress took the opportunity to denounce the slowness of the Argentine judicial system in cases of gender-based violence: "If I, being well-known, only now have a trial after five years, imagine what awaits a neighborhood neighbor. The system is outdated, sexist, and backward."
