A Palestinian activist reported that Gaza's Ministry of Health hid the food in clandestine warehouses
A Palestinian activist accused the terrorist group Hamas of hiding large quantities of infant formula and nutritional shakes intended for babies and toddlers in a warehouse in Gaza, with the aim of deliberately worsening the famine and strengthening its propaganda against Israel.
The claims, made by Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, reignite the debate over the management of humanitarian aid in the Strip and the role of the Islamist group amid the conflict with Israel.
Alkhatib, known for his critical stance toward Hamas and his advocacy for a two-state solution, asserted that the terrorist group hoarded essential food during the most critical moments of the year. According to his explanation, the images shared on his social media allegedly show depots belonging to Gaza's Ministry of Health where hundreds of packages of infant formula and nutritional supplements were stored.

"During the worst days of the hunger crisis in Gaza over the past six months, Hamas deliberately hid tons of infant formula and nutritional shakes for children by storing them in clandestine warehouses belonging to Gaza's Ministry of Health," the activist wrote on X.
In the same post, he added: "The goal, as I said then, was to worsen the hunger crisis and trigger a disaster as part of the terrorist group's famine narrative in a desperate effort to stop Israel's attack on Gaza and force the return of the UN aid distribution mechanism, and away from the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)."
Warnings about the risk of a massive famine began to circulate at the beginning of the year, after the end of a temporary ceasefire in March. The breakdown of the agreement severely restricted the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip, which accelerated the deterioration of living conditions.

Over the following months, images of malnourished children and entire populations without access to basic food caused international alarm and led the United States to intervene by creating the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an entity intended to channel the distribution of supplies.
However, the implementation of the program was surrounded by difficulties. The distribution centers were marked by almost daily episodes of violence, including shootings and fatalities. In addition, Hamas threatened Gaza residents not to go to the delivery points managed by GHF, which further complicated access to food.
During that period, Alkhatib insisted that the Islamist organization was using the hunger crisis as a political tool, putting civilians at risk to gain an advantage in its confrontation with Israel. The activist maintained that the group must take responsibility for the suffering caused in the region. In his public statements, he reiterated that Hamas "must be held accountable for its role in the destruction and death in the Gaza Strip."
