The school also reported that a meeting with municipal authorities and other organizations had been agreed upon days earlier. Representatives from the educational community will participate in that meeting, aiming to reanalyze the situation and advance with new security measures.

The Emaús School in Morón issued a strong statement following the shooting attack that a father suffered this Thursday while taking his daughter to school. The man, who is said to be a retired police officer from the Bonaerense, was shot in the abdomen and was urgently transferred to Posadas Hospital.

In the message, the institution's authorities expressed their deep sorrow and solidarity with the affected families. They also stated that they share the concern of the entire educational community and emphasized that the safety of students, their families, and staff is a permanent priority.

The school assured that security problems in the area are neither new nor unknown to the authorities. They detailed that Emaús and the Padre Luis Foundation have made repeated complaints and requests to the Ministry of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires, the local police stations, and municipal authorities.

In the text, the institution stated that it requested concrete measures for prevention and care for the school environment. The request became known just hours after the incident, which occurred around 7:15 AM at Santiago Brian 900, between Dinamarca and El Rodeo.

The attack at the school entrance

The shooting occurred when the man was accompanying his daughter to Emaús School. According to initial reports, six armed criminals intercepted him to rob him and fired three times before fleeing. One of the shots hit him in the abdomen.

The victim was assisted by neighbors and then transported by an ambulance from SAME to Posadas Hospital, where he was admitted. One of the neighbors who helped him reported that the man remained conscious while waiting for the ambulance and was worried about his daughter, who was inside the car at the time of the attack.

The institution's commitment

At the end of the statement, Emaús assured that it will continue to follow up on the complaints and will insist to the authorities for responses. “Safety requires prevention, presence, and sustained management from the responsible agencies,” they emphasized.

The institution thanked the support of the educational community and reaffirmed its commitment to making the school a safer space. The message made it clear that the complaints are not recent and that the school has been requesting a firmer presence of security forces in the surroundings for some time.

The school highlighted that the safety of children and families cannot be left to chance and that a concrete response from the authorities is needed. They also insisted that requests have been made repeatedly at different levels, without translating into visible and permanent measures so far.

The statement aims to highlight a situation that, according to the institution, was already known and became visible again with this attack. The school stated that it will continue to support the affected families and will not lower its demands until a more protected environment is achieved for the entire community.

In this context, the school reaffirmed that prevention and the sustained presence of responsible agencies are essential to prevent such incidents from recurring. The planned meeting with municipal authorities and other stakeholders appears as a new attempt to advance concrete solutions after years of complaints.
