María Eugenia's heartbreaking tribute to her daughter Geñi on her birthday

Seven years after her passing, the Trilliza de Oro remembered her eldest daughter with an emotional post on Instagram

June 11 is a very special date for the Laprida family, since Eugenia, affectionately known as Geñi, would have turned 41 years old.

María Eugenia Fernández Rousse, one of the Trillizas de Oro, chose that date to pay tribute to her eldest daughter, who passed away in 2018 after a tough battle with breast cancer.

On a day filled with emotions, she shared a never-before-seen photo of Geñi on Instagram, accompanied by a brief and deep message:  "Happy birthday, Geñi. Our angel."

The image showed the young woman with a serene face and a radiant gaze, wearing a small gold chain around her neck and her hair down. An intimate, simple, and powerful portrait.

As in every post dedicated to her memory,  María Eugenia chose to disable comments, thus preserving the intimacy of her tribute.

A legacy that remains alive

Geñi was the result of the relationship between  María Eugenia and businessman Horacio Laprida.  During her life, she stood out for her artistic sensitivity, a clear inheritance from her mother.

She studied Visual Arts at St. Hilda's College  and lived for three years in Dubai with her husband, architect César Bustos. There, she designed handbags and exhibited her paintings.

With two young children, César and Cala, she returned to Argentina in 2013. She settled in General Rodríguez to raise her children near their grandparents and to teach art.

Her illness was progressive, silent, and painful. Although she fought bravely, cancer ended her life at 34 years old, leaving a deep mark on those around her.

Since then, her mother has kept her memory alive on every significant date, especially on her birthday and on the anniversary of her passing.

Geñi's memory, intact in her mother's heart

Each year, the pain renews its intensity, but so does the love. María Eugenia has turned Geñi's memory into a sacred space, where sadness coexists with gratitude for having shared her life.

This new anniversary was no exception. With a simple post, the actress and host honored her daughter once again, showing that even in silence, love can say it all.

Thus, with a green heart and the infinity symbol, she reaffirmed that the bond between mother and daughter doesn't end with death: it only changes form.
