A heroic City Police officer shot down a violent thief ten timesduring an attempted robberyin the town of González Catán, a district of La Matanza.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Da Vinci and Montgolfier streets, where residents alerted the authorities after hearing a series of gunshots. Upon arriving at the scene, Buenos Aires Police personnel found an abandoned motorcycle and ballistic evidence
at the scene.
The agent involved was identified as Héctor Camejo, inspector of the Buenos Aires force, who later appeared by his own means at a police station in the area, dressed in civilian clothes, where he was arrested.

According to the first performances, the sequence was recorded by a security camera. In the images, gunshots can be heard and the thief is seen falling to the ground, while her accomplice, who managed to escape, exclaims: “Help, please, friend,
he killed her”.
The offender was taken to Favaloro Hospital, where she died as a result of a gunshot wound between the ribs. So far, she has not been identified, as has the thief who accompanied her
.
In his opening statement, Camejo maintained that he was attacked by two people for the purpose of robbery. According to his revelation, he extracted his standard weapon, a Beretta 9-millimeter pistol,
and fired.
He also indicated that one of the assailants “made a gesture” with a gun, which was later determined to be plastic and was kidnapped on the spot.

Now, the judicial investigation, carried out by the Functional Homicide Investigation Unit of La Matanza, headed by prosecutor Adrián Arribas, aims to determine if the response of cash to save his life was, according to them,
"disproportionate”.
Sources in the file indicated that ten serrated pods were found at the scene, which would indicate that the policeman fired multiple shots.
In this context, prosecutor Arribas ordered the survey of new security cameras in the area to clarify the complete sequence and determine the escape route of the accomplice who survived.
The policeman will be investigated in the next few hours, while the case progresses to define his procedural situation and establish if he acted in self-defense or if he committed an alleged “excess” in the use of force.
