Barcelona's new title in LaLiga not only consolidated the team's dominance in Spain but also left a historic mark at the individual level for the full-back João Cancelo.
The team managed by Hansi Flick sealed the championship, the 29th in the history of the Catalan club, after winning 2-0 in the classic against Real Madrid, a result that allowed them to reach 91 points and take an unassailable lead with three matches remaining.
In this context, the Portuguese was one of the protagonists of the night with an unprecedented achievement: being the first footballer to win four of the five major leagues in Europe. Previously, Cancelo had already been a champion in Italy with Juventus in 2019, in England with Manchester City (where he won multiple Premier League titles under the management of Pep Guardiola) and in Germany with Bayern Munich in 2023.

With his crowning in his second stint with the blaugrana team, the Portuguese added his fourth distinct star in the elite of European football. Now, at 31 years old, and still with several seasons ahead in his career, Cancelo only needs to win the Ligue 1 title in France to complete the top five.
The Portuguese's record even surpasses that of historical figures who dominated different leagues but did not reach this milestone. Names like David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Zlatan Ibrahimović achieved titles in three of the main European competitions, but none could extend their dominance to a fourth.
The successful career of João Cancelo
Since his professional debut in early 2014, the Portuguese full-back has played a total of 37,289 minutes across 7 clubs (Benfica, Valencia, Juventus, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Al-Hilal), distributed over 488 matches, in which he scored 26 goals, provided 90 assists, and received 96 yellow cards, 4 reds for second yellow cards, and 3 direct red cards.
