Horacio Pagani revealed that he was a victim of a scam on the street: 'They took everything from me.'

The journalist provided details on how criminals in a group deceived him with his car in broad daylight

On February 5, Horacio Pagani experienced one of the most exciting moments of his life when, during a live television program, he found out that he had won the lottery. However, his happiness took an unexpected turn in the last few hours when he revealed that he was the victim of a sophisticated scam in which he lost 1,800,000 pesos.

The journalist recounted his experience on Radio Mitre, explaining how a group of criminals deceived him in broad daylight while he was walking through the streets of Buenos Aires. According to Pagani, the scam began when a stranger warned him about a supposed problem with his car's wheel. Although he initially ignored the warning, later other "good Samaritans" approached him with the same message, which made him doubt the safety of his vehicle.

It was at that moment when a supposed mechanic, of Bolivian nationality, appeared on the scene, claiming that his wheel was in danger. After inspecting the car and showing him a grease-covered nut, the supposed expert convinced the journalist that his vehicle needed urgent repairs. "I got a little scared," the journalist admitted, who didn't hesitate to park the car and leave it in the hands of the supposed mechanics.

The story didn't end there. The group of criminals continued manipulating the situation, suggesting that Horacio go to a nearby workshop, where they would offer "original" parts at a high price. At first, the writer didn't suspect anything, but as events unfolded, the situation became more confusing. The criminals began asking him for large sums of money until they finally offered him a discount in exchange for a payment by transfer.

When Pagani paid the agreed sum, the situation started to become suspicious. Despite the large amount of money already handed over, they requested an additional payment for labor. However, the confusion began to increase when the transfer didn't complete correctly.

It was at that moment when he decided to consult with a trusted mechanic, who explained to him that no work had been done on the car. "They put grease on the one you had and didn't do anything to you. This never breaks," the expert explained, revealing the fraud he had suffered. The journalist then concluded with great regret: "They took a total of 1,800,000 from me. I couldn't sleep that night. It was a lot of money."
