Huracán - Platense: Where and when is the 2025 Torneo Apertura final being played?

After Huracán's 6-5 victory over Independiente in penalties and Platense's victory over San Lorenzo by 1-0, the two finalists of the 2025 Torneo Apertura have been confirmed.

El Globo will seek to win a Primera title after 48 years, while Calamar, who defeated three of the five major teams in Argentine football, will have a second chance to earn their first star, after losing the final to Rosario Central in the 2023 Copa de la Liga.

The grand final will take place at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero on June 1 at 3:30 PM. Despite rumors pointing to a possible change of venue due to the potential turnout for each team, the AFA confirmed the designation of the Santiago stadium.

It should be noted that, unlike the rest of the play-off matches, if there is a tie in the 90 regulation minutes, two 15-minute extra time periods will be played. If the tie persists, there will be a penalty shootout.

The possible prize for the champion

Although it hasn't been made official by AFA, it is expected that, like last year, the team that wins the title will earn the meager sum of 500 thousand dollars. However, the real big prize is the spot in the Libertadores, which just for participating grants at least 6 million, 12 times more than what national football offers.
