The Apertura final would change venue if there is any clásico.

The final of the Torneo Apertura 2025, scheduled for Sunday, June 1 at 3:30 PM at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades de Santiago del Estero, might not be held there if the teams reaching the decisive match have a strong following and belong to the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.

With Platense, Independiente, San Lorenzo and Huracán as the semifinalists, from the organization of the Professional League a possible change of venue for the grand final is being considered. The main reason is  the considerable distance between Buenos Aires and Santiago del Estero, which could make it difficult for a large number of fans to travel.

In the event that the classic between  San Lorenzo and Huracán decides the title, one of the alternatives being considered is to move the final to the  Estadio Único de La Plata, which has a capacity for 53,000 spectators, that is, 11,000 more than the Santiago stadium. Meanwhile, if the decisive match were to be between Independiente and San Lorenzo, the option gaining strength is the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes de Córdoba, which not only offers greater capacity but also better connectivity from different parts of the country, including Buenos Aires.

The final decision will be made in the coming days, once the results of the semifinals are known, with the aim of facilitating access for the fans and ensuring a setting appropriate to the magnitude of the event.

The Semifinal Matches

The semifinal matches are played next weekend. The first match will be Independiente - Huracán on Saturday, 24 at 6:30 PM at the Libertadores de América, while San Lorenzo - Platense will be played on Sunday, 25, at 4 PM at the Nuevo Gasómetro. The main referees for the matches will be Hernán Mastrángelo and Leandro Rey Hilfer, respectively.
