Amidst the speculations about a possible departure, the partisan journalist Sam Lee was blunt in his opinion about the former River player's present in the Premier League. "Please, get Echeverri out of your minds. He's never going to play," he stated without filters.

Additionally, the journalist revealed that Echeverri "was never in the plans to play for City at the end of this season" and added that "he's really raw" to compete in the squad of one of the most demanding teams in the world, currently under Guardiola's leadership.
