The bus fare will increase in September in CABA and the province of Buenos Aires, following the release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July. According to the current adjustment mechanism in both jurisdictions, fares would rise 4.1% in the City and 4.3% in the Buenos Aires territory.
The new rates would take effect from Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Thus, the minimum fare for buses under CABA jurisdiction would increase from $852.90 to $887.87, while for provincial lines it would rise from $1111.19 to $1158.97.
The adjustments still need to be formalized by the governments of the City and the province of Buenos Aires through the corresponding resolutions.
The update is calculated based on the latest available inflation data plus two percentage points. In July, the CPI was 2.1% nationally, while in Greater Buenos Aires it reached 2.3%.
The increase in September will be added to the one applied in August, when fares rose by 3.9%. Up to that month, the fare tables for motor transport accumulated a variation of 43.70% in CABA and 68.76% in PBA during 2026.

Buses under the jurisdiction of the province of Buenos Aires would have an update of 4.3%.
For passengers using a registered SUBE card, the fares effective from September 1 are:
From 0 to 3 kilometers: $1158.97.
From 3 to 6 kilometers: $1303.83.
From 6 to 12 kilometers: $1448.71.
From 12 to 27 kilometers: $1738.45.
More than 27 kilometers: $2043.84.
The fare table corresponds to provincial lines, primarily identified with numbering starting from 200.
In the case of the minimum fare, the current value of $1111.19 would rise to $1158.97, representing a difference of $47.78 per trip.
