Fares for nationally regulated lines will rise by 9.7%, which will bring the minimum ticket to $495.
This measure adds to the adjustments already implemented in services managed by the Buenos Aires provincial government and the City of Buenos Aires.
Nuevo aumento en el transporte público
The Argentine Association of Automotive Transport Entrepreneurs (AAETA) explained that despite the increase, the sector's situation remains critical: "This adjustment doesn't imply an improvement in the companies' finances, since every fare increase is deducted from subsidies," they stated in a press release.
The organization also warned of a significant drop in resources for the AMBA transportation system. "In 2015, AMBA received the equivalent of $400 billion per month between revenue and subsidies. In 2025, that average dropped to $270 billion. One third of the income was lost," they emphasized.
AAETA insisted that the analysis of the system must consider the sum of fare plus subsidies, since both components determine the sustainability of the service.
