In the first ten months of 2025, accumulated inflation was 25.3%, while in 2024 a price increase of 122.9% was recorded for the entire year. This consolidates the downward trend of price increases in the city.
The Buenos Aires City Consumer Price Index (IPCBA) registered a 2.2% increase in October, marking a new slowdown compared to previous months. In the last twelve months, year-on-year inflation reached 33.6%, representing a decrease of 1.4 percentage points compared to September, according to the Buenos Aires City Statistics Institute (Idecba).

Housing and food, with moderate increases
The divisions with the greatest impact on the monthly increase were Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Food and non-alcoholic beverages, Restaurants and hotels, Transport, and Health, which together accounted for 64.8% of the overall increase.
Housing and basic services rose 2% (0.40 points) in the monthly variation, mainly due to adjustments in rents and building expenses. The year-on-year increase in this category was 38.8%.
Food and beverages increased by 2.1% (0.36 points), with notable rises in fruit (+8.6%), bread and cereals (+2.7%), and meat (+1.7%).
Despite these increases, both categories remained below the overall year-on-year average, reflecting a certain stability in basic prices.
Goods and services: improvement in the gap
Goods increased by 2.2%, slightly above Services (+2.1%). Over the year, the former accumulated 19.3% and the latter 29.2%. Core inflation (rest of IPCBA) showed a monthly increase of 2.2% and a year-on-year increase of 35.5%, consolidating the general process of price deceleration.
Among the products surveyed by Idecba, French bread (flauta type) averaged $3,766 per kilogram, asado $12,465, whole milk $1,477, and premium gasoline $1,719 per liter.
Meanwhile, a men's haircut cost an average of $15,405 and a movie ticket, $9,280.
Inflation in retreat
With controlled monthly inflation and a year-on-year rate that fell by 1.4 points, Buenos Aires consolidates a trend of gradual stability, in line with the deceleration process shown by the main national indicators.

The year-on-year decrease, which brought the index to 33.6%, marks the lowest level of the year and suggests that the slowdown in price increases is beginning to consolidate in major urban centers.
