The health of María del Carmen Raquel Villanueva Goyanarte, better known as Pata Villanueva, has raised concern in the entertainment world after it was revealed that she was admitted to intensive care. The information came to light this Tuesday during a broadcast of LAM, where journalist Pilar Smith provided details about the delicate moment the former vedette is going through.
According to the panelist, Villanueva entered a clinic the day before and, as soon as she arrived at the medical center, she was directly transferred to the intensive care unit.
“The real reasons for her admission are unknown, but I am told that as soon as she arrived at the clinic, she was taken to intensive care,” Smith commented on the air of the program hosted by Ángel de Brito.
In response to the concern that quickly began to grow on social media and among her followers, the journalist also conveyed some reassurance about the actress's current condition. The information was provided by Agostina, Villanueva's daughter, who confirmed the admission but avoided going into detail about the medical situation.
“The daughter told us that she is stable and out of danger,” Smith detailed during the program. She also added that her condition had reportedly improved in the last few hours. “She was admitted to therapy yesterday, but today they were able to stabilize her”, the panelist noted, trying to bring calm amid the uncertainty.
In an effort to reconstruct the complete picture regarding the health of the former vedette, the program's team attempted to communicate with close family members. However, as the journalist recounted, the family chose to keep the diagnosis and specific reasons for the admission confidential.
The serious accident she suffered in 2021
During the broadcast of LAM, Pilar Smith also recalled the difficult health episode that Pata Villanueva went through in 2021, when she suffered a serious fall down a staircase that caused a skull fracture.
That accident generated enormous concern and forced the actress to undergo extensive physical and neurological recovery. For months, she stayed away from public life while undergoing various medical treatments and rehabilitation.
Over time, Villanueva had managed to resume part of her routine and return to public appearances. Therefore, the news of this new admission reignited alarms among her loved ones and the artistic community.
