Argentina will receive a total of 20 helicoptersBlack Hawk from the United States, as confirmed by the U.S. ambassador to the country, Peter Lamelas.
The official specified that four aircraft will be delivered initially, as part of a plan that includes the arrival of 16 additional units.
Lamelas announced the new information through his X account, where he highlighted the cooperation between the governments of Javier Milei and Donald Trump in matters of security and defense.
"The U.S. is working together with Argentina to help build a stronger and safer country", wrote the ambassador.

Later, the official detailed the scope of the operation and confirmed that the total number of helicopters will be considerably higher than the four units that had been initially planned.
"4 Black Hawks will be delivered initially, out of a total of 20 Black Hawk helicopters. The units are fully refurbished and were acquired at an excellent price, given that new ones cost between $21 and $40 million each, depending on the equipment. Additionally, they come with a warranty", Lamelas added.
Thus, the first delivery of four aircraft will be part of a broader plan to incorporate 20 Black Hawks. The announcement changes the previously known scope of the operation and expands the incorporation of this model into the Argentine Armed Forces.

The four helicopters that will be received initially are fully refurbished, according to what the U.S. ambassador indicated. Additionally, the units come with a warranty, another aspect highlighted by Lamelas when referring to the acquisition conditions.
The official also focused on the value of the aircraft. As he explained, new Black Hawks have a price range between USD 21 million and USD 40 million per unit, depending on the incorporated equipment.
The confirmation of the 20 units comes after the United States approved a sale to Argentina that initially included four military Black Hawk helicopters, along with related equipment.
The incorporation of this material is part of the modernization process of the Argentine Armed Forces under the Milei Government. The Black Hawks will have capabilities related to transport, security operations, and emergency assistance.
