iPhone 17 Air: everything that changes compared to the standard iPhone 17
Leaks reveal changes in design, RAM, processor, and cameras ahead of the launch
There are only a few days left before the official unveiling of the iPhone 17 Air, the thinnest version from Apple that promises to set itself apart from the standard iPhone 17. Leaks have already revealed significant changes in design, processor, and memory.
The launch of the Air line-up means the disappearance of the "Plus" suffix and brings this model closer to the Pro family. The official presentation will take place on September 9, when new features for AirPods Pro and Apple Watch are also expected.

Design
The iPhone 17 Air is just 5.5 mm (0.22 inches) thick, making it the thinnest iPhone to date. In addition, its titanium construction makes it lighter than the iPhone 17, which is about 8 mm (0.31 inches).
Display and performance
The Air will feature a 6.5 to 6.6-inch OLED panel, while the standard iPhone 17 reaches 6.3 inches. Both will maintain a 120 Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth experience comparable to high-end models.
Processor and RAM
The iPhone 17 will feature the A19 chip, while the iPhone 17 Air will integrate the A19 Pro. Additionally, the Air doubles the RAM: 12 GB compared to 8 GB, which improves its performance in demanding tasks.

Camera
To maintain the reduced thickness, Apple made cuts in photography. The iPhone 17 retains two sensors, while the Air will only have one 48 MP sensor, without an ultra-wide angle.
Battery
The iPhone 17 keeps 3,600 mAh, but the Air remains at 2,800 mAh. Apple is betting on AI adjustments and its case with an integrated battery to compensate for the lower battery life.

Summary of differences
- Display: iPhone 17 6.3" OLED | iPhone 17 Air 6.5-6.6" OLED
