Israel demonstrated that a UNRWA worker participated in the October 7 massacre.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry released a video showing the Hamas terrorist Mohammad Abu Itiwi during the attack

The Israeli Foreign Ministry published evidence confirming that Mohammad Abu Itiwi, a terrorist from Hamas, who was an employee of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), actively participated in the October 7, 2023 attack, in which terrorists from the Palestinian group brutally murdered more than 1,200 Israeli civilians and kidnapped hundreds more in one of the worst acts of violence in the country's history.

Through its official account, the Foreign Ministry published a video showing Abu Itiwi taking part in the terrorist attack carried out in the area of Kibbutz Re’im, during which numerous young Israelis were killed or kidnapped while trying to escape the Nova music festival.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated: “Is this enough evidence for you, @UNRWA?”, accompanying the images with a direct accusation: “There are many Hamas terrorists inside UNRWA.”

Israel has maintained, with evidence, for years that UNRWA is collaborating with Hamas terrorists and has warned about the involvement of dozens of its employees in terrorist activities. However, the new evidence provided regarding Abu Itiwi, who was eliminated in an Israeli attack in October 2023, reinforces the seriousness of the allegations.

This is no longer about accusations without evidence, but about the direct involvement of UNRWA employees in Hamas's terrorist acts.

Previously, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini had publicly stated on June 24 that “we haven't received a response” to his formal request to the Government of Israel for information regarding the allegations.

The Israeli response was swift. In addition to the Abu Itiwi video, diplomatic officials pointed out that the UN received numerous reports and documented evidence about terrorist infiltration in the humanitarian organization, but that “nothing has been done.” In a harsher tone, they described UNRWA as “a stain on the UN.”

The situation sparked a heated debate about the role and legitimacy of UNRWA, especially in Gaza, where it has operated for decades and provides services to millions of Palestinians. However, this agency has not only failed in its mandate of neutrality, but has also been complicit, by action or omission, in the strengthening of Islamist terrorism in the region.
