The measure was officially announced on September 29 through Decree 1116/26 in the Official Bulletin, jointly signed by President Javier Milei and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno. The role, granted strictly on an ad honorem basis, appoints the iconic polo player as representative for the international promotion of Argentine sports, entrusting him with enhancing the image and positioning of the Country Brand and intensifying Argentina's presence abroad in direct coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship.
The solemn ceremony for the title handover took place this Tuesday at the Palacio Libertad and the Casa Rosada, in a national-scale event that preceded the President's trip to France by just a few hours, where he will lead the "Argentina Week" in Paris.
The day coincided with the highest distinction awarded to Adolfo Cambiaso as illustrious citizen by the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, a recognition that required the consensus of two-thirds of the Buenos Aires legislators and was under the special custody of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) around the building.
During the institutional act, President Javier Milei delivered a powerful speech highlighting Argentina's unbeatable character in this discipline by stating: "Polo is a sport of kings, but coincidentally, we dominate it who have never had kings".
