The President defended the free market and warned about the advance of communism
President Javier Milei received a standing ovation this Wednesday at the America Business Forum, the summit of world leaders held in the city of Miami, where he shared the stage with international figures such as Donald Trump, María Corina Machado, and Lionel Messi.
During the event, Milei was honored by Mayor Francis Suárez with the key to the city of Miami, a recognition that declared him an illustrious guest and symbolized the support of the international community for his leadership and his defense of economic freedom. With a message focused on the defense of capitalism and individual liberty, Javier reaffirmed that "capitalism is the only just system."
Messi disertó en el mismo foro.
"I'm pleased to share the stage with one of the most illustrious athletes and the pride of all Argentinians, Lionel Messi," Milei said at the beginning of his speech, before delivering a phrase that provoked laughter and applause: "Messi is living proof that effort, dedication, and passion can create miracles. He's also proof that I, too, can congratulate a lefty."
During his remarks, Milei made a direct reference to the recent local elections in the United States, where the Democratic Party achieved victories in several states, and he drew a parallel with Argentine politics. "Don't let yourselves be intimidated by some local results," he warned, alluding to the partial victory of Peronism in the province of Buenos Aires before the resounding national victory of La Libertad Avanza.
In the central part of his presentation, Milei warned that "the argument of the left has gained ground in the cultural battle" and denounced that the West "is every day closer to communism, which it once viewed with horror from the other side of the Iron Curtain". "If we concede that capitalism is a necessary evil, we will already have lost. They will continue to be the owners of the yardstick that defines what is right and what is wrong. We can't make that mistake again," he emphasized before hundreds of businesspeople and international leaders.

The president again stressed that his government is leading a moral battle for the defense of the principles that made the West great: merit, private property, and competition. "Capitalism is just because it respects individual liberty and rewards effort; socialism, on the other hand, destroys everything it touches," he remarked, earning another ovation from the audience.
Milei will conclude his tour of the United States this Friday in New York, where he will participate in the discussion "New investment opportunities in Argentina" organized by the Council of the Americas, before returning to the country.
