Javier Milei signed a decree for seized weapons to be used by the police.

Bullrich announced the seizure of 471 firearms, which were handed over to the Security Forces

In a move that marks a paradigm shift in security policy, the Government of Javier Milei has ordered the reuse of firearms seized from criminals to strengthen the equipment of the Federal Forces.

The Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, announced the seizure of 471 firearms, which, after being evaluated by the National Agency for Controlled Materials (ANMaC), will be used to combat organized crime.

"471 seized firearms, selected by ANMaC, are already in the hands of our Federal Forces. We're adding equipment to confront organized crime. Previously, they were destroyed; today, they're used to protect Argentinians. Every weapon we take from crime is turned back against crime," Bullrich stated on her official X account, accompanying the announcement with an explanatory video.

The measure was made possible by a decree signed by President Javier Milei, which allows those weapons that are in good condition and compatible with police use to become part of the arsenal of the forces patrolling the streets. The objective is twofold: to optimize resources and, at the same time, to send a strong message to criminal organizations.

"Previously, weapons in good condition were destroyed. Today, those weapons we take from criminals are once again used by law enforcement. Because with us, those who commit crimes pay for them," Bullrich emphasized in the video shared on social media.

The decision reflects a state policy aimed at maximizing the efficient use of available resources in the fight against crime. Far from the bureaucratic practices of the past, which discarded useful material, the current libertarian administration seeks to turn every action against crime into a concrete tool for citizen protection.

The Ministry of Security explained that all weapons undergo a rigorous technical, legal, and ballistic evaluation process, overseen by ANMaC. Only those that meet the required standards are assigned to the forces, thus ensuring the legality and safety of the procedure.

This initiative is part of a broader set of reforms promoted by Javier Milei's Government, which aims to regain control of public spaces and provide greater operational support to security forces. With this decision, not only is equipment improved, but a new policy is established, in which resources seized from crime must be transformed into instruments serving the law.
