Milei joins democratic leaders to accompany María Corina Machado at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony
President Javier Mileiwill depart tonight for Oslo to participate in the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony for María Corina Machado. She is the Venezuelan leader who has become the international symbol of the fight against Nicolás Maduro's narco-dictatorship.
Corina Machado recibirá el Nobel de la PAz por su lucha en Venezuela
The decision to attend represents a clear choice by the Government to join Western democracies in international pressure against Chavismo. Furthermore, it constitutes support for Venezuela's legitimate president, Edmundo González Urrutia, who won the elections but was prevented from taking office by the regime.
Milei will travel on a special flight together with his Secretary General, Karina Milei, with arrival scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
Democratic leaders from the region will be present at the ceremony
In addition to the Argentine president, the presidents of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; Paraguay, Santiago Peña; Panama, José Raúl Mulino Quintero, and González Urrutia himself will attend. It will be a key meeting of heads of state who recognize the seriousness of the Venezuelan crisis and support the restoration of democracy. In this context, they understand Corina Machado's central role in that struggle.
International figures such as María Elvira Salazar, United States congresswoman, and Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Spanish deputy, will also participate. From Argentina, Gabriel Volpi, chargé d'affaires in Venezuela and a key figure in the relationship with the democratic resistance, will also travel.

The ceremony will include cultural activities at the Nobel Peace Center with Venezuelan artists, including pianist Gabriela Montero and singer Danny Ocean. The prize for María Corina will be presented by the Nobel Foundation together with the four presidents present.
Mobilizations and events in Oslo to raise awareness
On Wednesday, Venezuelan diaspora organizations will carry out multiple activities around the Nobel Center. Starting at 12 p.m., in Oslo City Hall Square, giant screens will be set up to show videos documenting human rights violations committed by the dictatorship.

Later, the traditional March of the Torches will take place, coordinated this year by The Norwegian Venezuelan Justice Alliance. Thousands of demonstrators will light up the streets of the Norwegian capital until they reach Parliament, where the closing event will be held.
Although historically this march was organized by the Norwegian Peace Council, this year the institution decided to withdraw due to ideological differences with the prizewinner. Such an attitude made evident the discomfort that direct condemnation of Maduro generates in certain sectors.
Milei keeps his denunciation against the narco-dictatorship
In the run-up to the event, the Argentine Government reaffirmed its position by its mere presence. Venezuela lives under a criminal regime, responsible for electoral fraud, political persecution, and crimes against humanity.
Javier Milei es un gran crítico de la narcodictadura chavista
Milei's support in Oslo adds to an increasingly solid convergence among Western democratic governments. In recent months, these have raised the tone against Chavismo in a context of growing diplomatic and military pressure led by the United States.
The death of opposition figure Alfredo Díaz in El Helicoide prison once again exposed the brutality of the repressive system. María Corina Machado and González Urrutia signed a document in which they stated that "his integrity and his life were the sole responsibility of those who kept him arbitrarily kidnapped in (...) a systematic torture center."
In the same vein, the United States described the event as "another reminder of the vile nature of Maduro's criminal regime."
The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Machado not only recognizes her career, but also shines an international light on the historic gravity Venezuela is experiencing. This country has been devastated by two decades of authoritarianism, corruption, and systematic human rights violations.
With Milei in Oslo, Argentina joins the bloc of countries demanding free elections, justice, and an end to the regime that keeps an entire nation hostage.
