Among the cases, there is one involving a 17-year-old offender accused of sexual abuse with access to carnal knowledge, released without any consequences
The Buenos Aires judge Laura De Marinis was publicly exposed again after journalist Jonatan Viale claimed that the magistrate had ordered the release of 26 minors without penal or protective measures since taking over the Juvenile Criminal, Contraventional, and Minor Offenses Court No. 3.
During his editorial on TN, Viale questioned the judge's actions and displayed various files that, he claimed, are part of the controversial history of guarantee-based decisions made by the progressive judge.
“This judge who cannot sleep has officially released 26 delinquent minors since she became a judge. Twenty-six without any penal or protective measures,” Viale stated, referring to the judge's public statements after the impeachment request against her became known.
Among the cases presented by the host was one dated September 15, 2026, concerning a 17-year-old delinquent who, according to the information displayed, had entered the system accused of sexual abuse with access to carnal knowledge. According to the journalists, his release was ordered without any penal measures corresponding to the alleged crime.
De Marinis is already facing an impeachment request
The revelation comes amid strong questioning surrounding De Marinis after declaring unconstitutional, for a specific case, the article of the new Juvenile Penal Regime that sets punishability from the age of 14 and dismissing a teenager accused of participating in an attempted robbery.

The magistrate argued that the incorporation of the young person into the penal system was regressive and “stigmatizing” given his personal circumstances. The new regime, however, remains in effect and her resolution was appealed by the Prosecutor's Office.
The Buenos Aires government later filed a complaint against De Marinis before the Council of the Judiciary for alleged “misconduct” and “inexcusable ignorance of the law”, and requested the opening of an impeachment trial to evaluate her removal. Among other criticisms, the presentation claims that the judge would have used a repealed norm and repeatedly minimized the harm suffered by the victims.

The attacked man also publicly questioned the resolution. He recounted that he was chased by five young men while heading to work and that he managed to get to safety thanks to the appearance of police officers. “She should apply the law,” he later stated.
The new background information released by Viale now adds pressure on a magistrate who had already come under public scrutiny for other reprehensible decisions, including having annulled in 2023 the house arrest of the young man convicted of brutallyassaulting the gas station attendant Arturo López.
