The film community woke up to sad news: Jorge De Pina Santos, the actor who earned a place in the audience's hearts for his role in Esperando la Carroza, the classic Argentine comedy directed by Alejandro Doria, has passed away. Although his role was brief, his scene as "the boy from the flower shop" was immortalized as one of the most memorable in the film.
The news was shared through the Instagram account @tour.carrocero, which brings together thousands of fans who keep the spirit of the film alive through tours of the original locations and nostalgic content.
"We found out that Jorge De Pina Santos, the boy from the flower shop, has left us," they wrote alongside an image of the actor in the iconic scene in which he delivers a wreath during the wake of the supposed Mamá Cora.

The account shared an emotional farewell message: "We will always remember him for the unforgettable scene in which he participated. May he rest in peace. A big hug to his family and friends."
The post quickly filled with comments from users who mourned the loss. "How sad, he became part of our cinema's history," wrote one follower. Esperando la Carroza, released in 1985, has over time become one of the most beloved films in Argentine cinema. With his passing, De Pina Santos joins a list of key cast members who have also passed away in recent years. Antonio Gasalla, who played the unforgettable Mamá Cora, died in 2024. China Zorrilla, in the role of Elvira, died in 2014. The actors Julio De Grazia, Betiana Blum, Juan Manuel Tenuta, Andrea Tenuta are also no longer with us.
