Jorge Rial speculated about a coup d'état, while Alejandro Fantino replied.

The journalist warned about a destabilization attempt against Milei and stated that he would be willing to defend him

The new streaming channel Carnaval brings together journalists with opposing political views at the same table, and the result, as expected, is constant tension.

Jorge Rial, Viviana Canosa, Alejandro Fantino, and Fabián Doman—each with a well-established career and a very clear stance—lead debates that, far from going unnoticed, shake up the media landscape.

Last night, during the broadcast, Rial issued a strong warning about a possible coup d'état against President Javier Milei, which led to a heated exchange with Fantino.

Jorge Rial habló de la posibilidad de un golpe de estado a Javier Milei

Everything began with a reflection from Rial on the current state of the government and the risks of potential institutional destabilization.

"I told Milei today, who insulted me, called me an idiot because of something I said, that he shouldn't insult everyone so much, because when the time comes, if someone wants to stage a coup, the one who wants it the most is Villarruel. She wants it, she has the means, she has the contacts, she has everything. And we're going to be the ones who support him. Us," said the former host of Intrusos, with a defiant tone that even unsettled his fellow panelists.

Rial's words were surprising for two reasons: first, for openly discussing a possible coup attempt in a democracy; second, for siding with Milei, despite being one of his fiercest critics.

The statement was immediately answered by Alejandro Fantino, one of the communicators most aligned with the government. "Jorge," he replied, staring at him, "if there is destabilization, you're going to go with your saber drawn on a white steed at the front of the troops," he said ironically.

But Rial was not intimidated: "I support any democratic government. The ones who should carry the drawn saber are those who call for tanks in the streets, those who want to burn down Congress. Those are the ones who should be there, and I hope they are."

Fantino, visibly uncomfortable, interrupted him with a jab full of symbolism: "In the Battle of Helm's Deep, you're on Sauron's side, Jorge."

However, Rial insisted on his warning and remained firm in his position: "Fanta, Fanta... let's hope it doesn't end up being us who defend him in the end. The ones he insults. Because we know what it's like to live without democracy."

The exchange left both Viviana Canosa and Fabián Doman speechless, as they chose to stay out of the crossfire. But Fantino, after harshly questioning him, eventually relented: "Honestly, I love what you're saying. It speaks well of you."
