Just a few days after Jesse Huerta announced his decision to temporarily step away from Jesse & Joy, his sister spoke for the first time about the news and surprised everyone by revealing that she was also unaware of the musician's plans. In front of the press, Joy Huerta could not hold back her tears as she explained how she is coping with this unexpected change after years of working together.
The artist addressed the issue during a press conference for her upcoming performances at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico. There, she acknowledged that she is still trying to process what happened and revealed that she learned of the decision practically at the same time as the public.
“I found out 20 minutes before you did,” she confessed. “I’m still processing, it’s too much information. He has his reasons, I can only respect that, I can’t speak for him,” she added.

Visibly emotional, Joy explained that Jesse had communicated that he would remain with the project until December 5, although they have commitments scheduled even after that date.
“His place will always be there, and a button is enough to show that. Jesse announced that he will be until December 5, and since this is until December 6 at the Auditorio Nacional, I suppose he has his reasons,” she expressed before thanking for the support received.

Despite the surprise the news brought her, Joy made it clear that there is no personal conflict between the siblings and assured that she respects the decision Jesse made.
“We love each other deeply, but I think he was very clear in saying: ‘I am in another process of my life,’ and I think it is very valid to respect that. If a person decides to take time away from walking by your side, I cannot judge them,” she stated.
The singer emphasized that, beyond the impact the decision had on their professional plans, her priority is to support him as a sister. “I support him. I know he is going through something he has to experience, and the only thing I can do as a sister and partner is to support him,” she expressed.
Additionally, she highlighted the bond they maintain after so many years shared both in family and artistic contexts. “Love exists, and love is endearing. I admire his courage to make his decision about what he needs to do at this moment,” she added.
