Daniel Vávra, director of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, believes that artificial intelligence will be key to facing the challenges of video game development in the coming years. The pressure of production times, combined with the physical demands of the creative process, leads him to bet on technology as a strategic ally to preserve quality without sacrificing the health of the teams.

In dialogue with specialized media, Vávra stated that his permanence in the industry depends on being able to work more efficiently without compromising his artistic vision. After the resounding success of the second installment of Kingdom Come, the creator acknowledged that each new project becomes more demanding and that it is necessary to incorporate tools that reduce the operational load without replacing human talent.

AI as support for creative teams

While the use of artificial intelligence in the industry still generates controversy, Vávra proposes an integrative view.

"AI should not be seen as a threat, but as an essential collaborator," he stated, advocating for a hybrid development model in which automated tools handle repetitive tasks, freeing up time for creativity.

The director also reflected on the pressure that video game studios face when managing large-scale titles. The possibility of reducing development times through AI could, in his view, decrease stress levels and open up new opportunities for more daring and innovative proposals.

Innovations that enhance the player experience

Among the most promising applications, Vávra highlighted the potential of AI to improve interaction with non-playable characters (NPCs), generating more realistic behaviors and complex dialogues. This would not only enrich gameplay but also increase the emotional immersion of players, a goal the studio has pursued since its first release.

However, the director is aware of the challenges this transition entails. He ensures that the balance between technology and job stability will be essential, and that the incorporation of AI must be done responsibly, without losing sight of the leading role of human teams in the creative process.

A new paradigm for the industry

Daniel Vávra believes that the future of video game development lies in the seamless collaboration between humans and machines, where AI acts as a facilitator of ideas and not as a substitute for artistic vision. In this context, he envisions a more agile, sustainable industry open to exploring new ways of storytelling.

With Kingdom Come: Deliverance II as a recent reference, the director positions himself among the creatives who not only observe technological advancement with attention but seek to lead a deep transformation in the way video games are conceived and produced.
