Kvaratskhelia suffered a robbery in France days after winning the Champions League.

PSG's forward was robbed at his home in Le Cannet while he was resting in Cannes. The police are investigating the incident

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a PSG star and scorer of one of the goals in the Champions League final against Inter, went through a difficult time days after being crowned champion. On Saturday night, while vacationing with his family in Cannes, criminals broke into his house and ransacked it.

The robbery took place at his residence located in Cannet, a quiet town near Cannes known for its low crime rate. The news was confirmed by both Georgian media and the French newspaper L’Équipe and surprised local residents, who were shocked by the incident.

During the robbery, the thieves took watches, jewelry, and top-level handbags. French authorities arrived at the scene to begin collecting evidence and move forward with the investigation. Although Cannet is not usually the scene of this type of crime, there have been previous incidents in past seasons, especially during the Cannes Festival.

The player's entourage tried to reassure everyone: "It was a scare, but we're fine," was the message shared after the incident, which overshadowed, at least for a few hours, the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the footballer.

Kvaratskhelia finished a brilliant season, in which he was key for PSG to win the treble under the management of Luis Enrique (Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Champions League), where he scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists. He was currently on vacation, since he was not drafted by Georgia's coach, Willy Sagnol, for the last FIFA date.

The forward had traveled to the French Riviera with his friend and compatriot Zuriko Davitashvili, a Saint-Étienne footballer, also accompanied by his family. The intention was to enjoy a few days of rest before resuming training and facing upcoming commitments with their respective clubs.

In this context, and according to local media, the criminals took advantage of the absence of the footballers and their families to enter the home. Fortunately, there were no injuries or physical harm.

Meanwhile, Kvaratskhelia and Davitashvili have not yet made any public statements. Their entourage continues to convey a message of calm while the authorities' work continues.
