A serious complaint filed with the federal judiciary set off alarm bells about a possible foreign interference operation in Argentina.
Attorney Jorge Monastersky asked to investigate a disinformation network allegedly funded by the Russian regime, which would have tried to influence public debate and the country's institutional system.
A foreign network to influence Argentina
The judicial presentation points to the existence of an organized structure with international funding and a local presence.
According to the complaint, this network - nicknamed “The Company” - would be composed of Russian citizens with ties to Argentina and the capacity to intervene in the media ecosystem.
The objective: to shape public opinion through targeted content and covert dissemination strategies.
The key role of Argentine intelligence

The case took on an institutional dimension after a statement from the State Intelligence Secretariat, which had already warned about
these activities. This report was submitted to the Justice and Public Prosecutor's Office, which reinforces the seriousness of the complaint.
According to Monastersky, this ceases to be a media suspicion and becomes a possible case of foreign interference with criminal implications.
More than 250 articles to manipulate the debate
One of the most worrying facts is the magnitude of the operation
.The network would have produced at least 250 newspaper articles with the objective of influencing public discussion.
The complaint argues that these contents have been introduced into media through payments or indirect mechanisms, even without full knowledge of the editors.
Suspicion of funding and covert payments
The judicial brief requests to investigate whether there were payments to journalists,
publishers or intermediaries. It also proposes to track financial movements, identify beneficiaries and determine if there was conscious participation or manipulation of those involved.
