Meanwhile, Boca is awaiting a response to the proposal made by Juan Román Riquelme, Leandro Paredes has reignited the hopes of Xeneize fans. The midfielder from Roma, currently on vacation in Miami, reaffirmed his desire to return to the club that developed him and revealed that he wants to do so alongside his teammate and friend Paulo Dybala.
"Sooner or later I'm going to return to Boca, there's no doubt about that," he stated in an interview with the Edul brothers' channel. Without confirming a date for his return, the world champion made it clear that the idea is still alive and not only in his mind: "It's a dream I have and my family does too."
Additionally, Paredes surprised by sharing that he is trying to convince Dybala to join him in his return: "I drove him crazy. I always tell him: if we go, come with me." He recalled that La Joya has been a Boca fan since childhood and wants to play in Argentine soccer.

The midfielder also spoke to the media upon his arrival in Miami. Although he avoided confirming an immediate decision, he left the door open: "I'm always close. The desire is there, but it doesn't depend only on me."
The Football Council has already presented him with a formal offer including a three-and-a-half-year contract and a competitive salary. If he gives a positive response, Xeneize would activate the "Boca clause" included in his contract with Roma, which requires a payment of 3.5 million dollars.
When asked about his relationship with Riquelme, Paredes was clear: "I speak with Román often, quite often. But right now I'm on vacation, I just finished a very long season and I want to rest. I haven't spoken to anyone yet." He concluded: "After the vacation I'll make decisions with a clear head."
