President Javier Milei's party, La Libertad Avanza, in alliance with the Cambia Mendoza front, swept the municipal legislative elections held this Sunday in the province of Mendoza, with key victories that consolidate the advance of the libertarian space even in historic Peronist strongholds.
The elections, aimed at renewing seats in the Deliberative Councils of six departments, left as a central takeaway the growth of the provincial ruling party allied with the national libertarian administration.
The most symbolic result was recorded in San Rafael, where the alliance between the libertarians and the provincial ruling party prevailed with 39.24% of the votes, surpassing the Peronist front San Rafael en Marcha, which obtained 38.07%.

This electoral victory marked a sharp setback for Peronism in one of its historic strongholds, a territory that it governed for decades. La Libertad Avanza, together with Cambia Mendoza, won three council seats, coming within reach of disputing control of the legislative body and consolidating a presence that is redefining the local political map.
The libertarian advance was also overwhelming in Luján de Cuyo, where the ruling coalition achieved a landslide victory with 59.15% of the votes compared to 10.40% for Peronism represented by Fuerza Justicialista.
Mayor Esteban Allasino managed to secure five of the six seats at stake, reaching a majority of eleven council members out of a total of twelve. From Governor Alfredo Cornejo's inner circle, officials had already stated that there was "high expectation" in this district, especially after Allasino's formal incorporation into the coalition formed together with La Libertad Avanza.

In Rivadavia, the trend also favored the libertarian space. The LLA+Cambia Mendoza alliance prevailed with 40.45% compared to 29.57% for the Sembrar Party, thereby consolidating the territorial growth of President Milei's space.
Reactions to the results
After the results became known, the national leader publicly celebrated the electoral performance with a message on his X account: "TMAP. VLLC!" he wrote, in reference to the slogan "Todo Marcha Acorde al Plan."
The political backing was also highlighted by national deputy from Mendoza Luis Petri, who stated: "Once again, the people of Mendoza chose not to look back. They chose to move forward with courage, conviction, and freedom. The ballot boxes were clear: the course is freedom." He also added: "The years of poor administrations that impoverished the country are over. The ideas promoted by President @JMilei are the opportunity to leave stagnation behind and start to truly grow."
In contrast, Peronism managed to retain the municipalities of Maipú, Santa Rosa, and La Paz, although without the political impact represented by the libertarian victories in strategic districts. In Maipú, the local ruling party prevailed by a narrow margin, while in Santa Rosa and La Paz the PJ maintained its dominance.
