Three senators would leave the Peronist interbloc and strengthen LLA in the Senate

The Peronist bloc in the Senate of the Argentine Nation faces a key fracture. Three senators who are part of Convicción Federal would leave the interbloc they share with the PJ.
The decision would be finalized on the eve of the preparatory session where the authorities of the Upper House will be elected.
Who are the senators who are leaving
The legislators who would slam the door are:
Sandra Mendoza, close to Governor Osvaldo Jaldo.
Carolina Moisés, politically linked to Gustavo Sáenz.
Guillermo Andrada, aligned with Raúl Jalil.
Convicción Federal has five members. Fernando Salino and Jesús Rejal, the latter close to Ricardo Quintela, would remain in the group.

The PJ would fall to its historic floor
If the split is finalized, Peronism would have only 25 senators. It would be the lowest representation since the return of democracy in 1983.
The break is due to the growing rapprochement of several Peronist governors with the Casa Rosada and to the distancing from the party's national leadership.
The PJ bloc in the Senate is chaired by José Mayans, a trusted ally of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
New bloc with a dialogue-oriented profile
The intention would be to form a new bloc of five members. Senator Flavia Royón and Beatriz Ávila, from the single-member bloc Independencia, would join.
The new group would have a more dialogue-oriented profile with the ruling party and greater alignment with the reform agenda.
LLA is left on the verge of two-thirds
The main beneficiary of this reconfiguration is La Libertad Avanza.
With 21 of its own senators and the support of PRO and UCR, the ruling party and its allies would reach 44 votes. They would be just four short of two-thirds in the Upper House.
The recent rapprochement of Senator Luis Juez with the violet bloc also strengthened the ruling party's position.
Labor reform and key session
The position of the senators who would break away regarding the labor reform is not yet defined. In the previous vote they did not provide a quorum and they voted against it.

However, it is speculated that they could provide a quorum in the next session, even if they maintain differences on some articles.
The ruling party has already shown that it has the votes needed to move forward with its legislative agenda.
With this new scenario, the Senate enters a stage of strong political reconfiguration. Peronism loses institutional weight while the ruling party consolidates its negotiating capacity and moves closer to a qualified majority that would allow it to push through structural reforms with a wider margin.
