With the group stage concluded, four national clubs remain in the race for eternal glory and five maintain their aspirations in the great conquest
After more than two months of absence, CONMEBOL's international competitions finally return to action starting today with the first leg matches of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.
The group stage left four Argentine teams still in the race for Eternal Glory: River, Estudiantes, Racing and Vélez. Meanwhile, Talleres de Córdoba (definitively eliminated after finishing last in Group D) and Central Córdoba (dropped to the Sudamericana after finishing third in Group C) were knocked out.
Meanwhile, the Gran Conquista will feature five national clubs in the round of 16: Independiente, Lanús, Huracán, Godoy Cruz and Central Córdoba (won the play-off against Cerro Largo). The teams that couldn't advance to the next round were: Defensa y Justicia (last in Group B) and Unión (last in Group E).
