The global collectibles market is experiencing a historic moment with the auction of the Pokémon card that is the most valuable ever created. This is the legendary Pikachu Illustrator.
The news has once again placed the Pokémon universe center stage and has reignited the interest of investors and fans. The auction is being handled by Goldin Auctions and has as its protagonist the American influencer Logan Paul, the current owner of the most desired card on the planet.

The most expensive Pokémon card in the world returns to the market
Pikachu Illustrator was created in 1998 as the prize in an illustration contest organized in Japan. It wasn't sold to the public, and it is estimated that there are only 39 copies in the entire world.
The card that is going up for auction is even more exceptional: it is the only one with a PSA 10 grade, that is, perfect condition. That detail automatically makes it the most valuable Pokémon card in history.
Logan Paul, the Guinness record, and a multimillion-dollar purchase
Logan Paul acquired this card in 2021 through a private transaction that earned him a Guinness World Record. He paid US$5,275,000, combining cash and another Pikachu Illustrator with a lower grade.
