The player from Rojo, who rejected Mexican offers, is now willing to listen to proposals from Liga MX to leave the club and help resolve outstanding debts

Kevin Lomónaco is willing to consider proposals from Mexico and his departure from Independiente seems closer than ever. The central defender of El Rojo, who until recently was inflexible about destinations outside of Europe, is now opening the door to Liga MX in this transfer market.

The club's economic situation pushes this possibility. Independiente needs to sell players to meet payment commitments and build a competitive team for the upcoming tournament. Lomónaco has become the main candidate to leave.

The central defender had a great level in his early days in Avellaneda and was even called up to the Argentina National Team. This generated interest from major clubs in Europe, but his performance declined in the last semester, along with the team's, and strong offers from the big leagues cooled off.

Mexican interest re-emerges

At his best moment, Lomónaco had already received offers from Mexico that were rejected. Now, with the passage of time, the player does not rule out moving to that destination. León and Tigres are among the interested teams, although La Fiera emerges as the most concrete option due to the good relationship between the institutions.

León had already inquired about him in previous markets, which facilitates conversations. Independiente is looking for a quick exit to resolve the debt they have with Bragantino.

The Avellaneda club holds 75% of the defender's rights and still owes three million dollars to the Brazilian team. This obligation is one of the priorities that the management wants to settle as soon as possible.

The possibility of Lomónaco leaving generates movements within El Rojo. The player understands the club's need and is open to analyzing the proposals that come from Mexico.

A key change of stance

This shift in the central's position is important because he previously prioritized only European options. Now, with the current landscape, he views the chance to continue his career in Liga MX positively, where several Argentines have performed well in recent years.

Independiente knows that having a player of his profile is valuable, but the economic reality forces them to consider departures. The management is working to ensure that any transfer allows the club to breathe financially and strengthen the squad.

On the player's side, the low level shown recently hasn't completely closed doors, but it has reduced the European interest he had at another time. Listening to Mexican offers appears as a concrete alternative to relaunch his career.

Lomónaco's future will depend on how negotiations progress in the coming days. For now, the central defender is open to dialogue and El Rojo is looking to finalize his sale to meet outstanding debts.
